The
Pittsford Trail Network lies about ten minutes north
of Rutland in the town of Pittsford. See a map of how to
get there. The trails are open to the public free of charge
and provide recreational experiences for residents and visitors
year round. The trails are open to all forms of NON MOTORIZED
recreation; ATVs and other powered vehicles are prohibited.
Trails are marked and traverse open fields, meander alongside
rivers and waterfalls, and course through woodlands. Trail
maps are available at each trailhead. Trails vary from easy

The "Recreation Area Trails":
These trails have more hills than the Caldwell Trail Area,
and are moderate in difficulty. Trail maps are located at
trail heads.Take Rt. 7 north, from Rutland into Pittsford.
Pass Kamuda's Store, and look for Plains Road on your right.
Take Plains Road, and park at the Municipal Offices .Looking
away from Plains Road towards the woods behind the Municipal
Office, one trail picks up in the left corner of the field;
another spur comes in on the right of Caverly Road. |

The Hitchcock/Chaffee
Falls Trail is located off Hitchcock Road. This trail has
some steep and irregular terrain; portions of it might be
considered moderate to difficult. There is a nice waterfall to
view. Trail maps at trail head. Take Rt. 7 north, from Rutland
into Pittsford. Pass Kamuda's Store, and look for Plains Road
on your right. Take Plains Road, and go by the Municipal Office.
At the "T" intersection with Hitchcock Road, take a
left (north). The trailhead is approximately 0.7 miles up the
road. Parking and access is via a short dirt road just off of
Hitchcock Road. The access does have a sign, but it's easy to
drive past it.
